Customize the Size:
Do the math to see if you need to customize the length of your cellphone sock before beginning.
Use a measuring tape to note how long your phone is.
Multiply this number by 8 (or your rnd gauge).
Subtract 32 from this number (this is how many rnds are in the tree chart).
Divide the number you came up with in half, or as close to half as possible. This tells you how many rnds you need to work before and after the chart to get the proper length for your phone.
If necessary, substitute your numbers for the ones in the pattern (after 2x2 ribbing and then after tree chart is complete).
Using main color (MC), cast on 32 (36, 40, 44) sts.
Divide sts over dpns. Place marker and join for working in the rnd.
Work 2x2 ribbing (k2, p2) for 1.5”
Knit 2 (3, 4, 3) rnds.
Attach coordinating color (CC) yarn.
Follow Rnds 1–32 of tree motif chart. (Shown Below)
Cut CC yarn.
Knit 2 (3, 4, 3) rnds with MC.
To End: K8 (9, 10, 11), turn, p16 (18, 20, 22). You should now have 16 (18, 20, 22) sts on one dpn. Place remaining 16 (18, 20, 22) sts on a second dpn. Holding needles parallel to each other, graft/kitchener live sts together.
Block piece to smooth out your colorwork.
