A knit fingerless gloves pattern
The dulcian is an instrument of the Renaissance. It is a double reed, bass woodwind and is the predecessor of the modern bassoon.
Dulcian is a pattern for fingerless gloves. More accurately, you may call them knitted fingerless mitts. What's the difference? Fingerless mitts (shortened from "mittens") don not have individual spaces for your fingers. Instead, all your fingers emerge from one section as they would from a mitten. The Dulcian pattern is knit from Knit Picks Merino Style DK. This yarn is on the heavier side of a DK weight and you may find that a worsted will give you around the same gauge.
These little fingerless mitts make a great last minute gift knit. There is just enough variation and detail in the pattern to make it interesting, but not so much as to be a time consuming project. Once you make it past the ribbing the rest of the knitting will speed right by.
