Garden Grove was designed to coordinate with the Certain Shade of Green Shawl.
The slip stitch pattern around the lower portion of the hat produces a squishy material perfect for cuddling your ears. Once this section is completed the design moves toward a simple lace repeat. Gauge increases during this portion to allow for a slouched appearance. The crown of the hat is finished with leaves that curve inward toward the center.
The hat shown fits the model very loosely. Because the hat is too large (as stated by the sizes below) the brim has a slight flip outward giving the appearance of a slouchy cloche. For a more standard fitting slouchy hat follow the size guidelines in the materials section.
To make a yarn substitution look for a light worsted to worsted weight. You will need approximately 150 to 165 yards of your chosen yarn.
