Fiddle Knits Designs | Beautifully detailed patterns for the hand knitter and crocheter

Registration for Mythos will be open from December 1, 2011 to January 16, 2012 or until maximum spaces have been filled. The first club shipment will be mailed on February 1, 2012. Following packages will be shipped on the first of the next 2 or 5 months (depending on the length of subscription purchased. There will be 3 or 6 shipments total.)
MYTHOS
The Mythos yarn and shawl club will revolve around Greek and Roman mythology. Each month will feature a yarn dyed in a colorway representing a god or goddess. Yarns may be semi solid or multi. Whatever type of yarn you get will be accompanied by a shawlette pattern designed specifically for that colorway. Along the journey you’ll receive information and myths, little goodies.
YARNS
The yarn for this collection will be dyed on a wool, or wool blend fingering weight base. Each skein will include enough yardage to complete the accompanying pattern for that month. You may see some Fiddle Knits standards like Dye-A-Tonic and some new yarns not available in the shop as well.
COLORS
Exact colorways will be a surprise. I don’t want to spoil the fun! However, you will have the option to personalize it a bit. I’ll be dying 2 sets of exclusive colorways for this club: cool and warm. Warm tones will revolve around the main colors of red, orange, yellow. Cool tones will lean toward the blue, green, purple. Both themes may use neutrals like brown, black, and grey. Signing up for cool tones (Greek) won’t mean you may never see red in your yarn, but if you do it will lean toward cool red and won’t be the dominant color. The same will be true of warm tones, an occasional cool color may appear, but it won’t be the main color.
Every month will feature one god or goddess, so how do the different colors work? As an example, one month could be the god Ares (Greek/cool) and the god Mars (Roman/warm). This is the same god figure appearing in two cultures myths and two color themes.
Please note upon checkout if you would like to receive your yarn in cool or warm tones.
Colorways will never be available to the public. These colors are yours alone!
YARN WINDING
Planning to use your yarn right away? Include a note upon checkout stating that you’d like your yarn prewound into a cake and ready to knit with!
DESIGNS
Each shawlette design will be a Fiddle Knits original.
The shawlette designs will be available to non club members after all member have received their monthly shipment.
Skill Level: All patterns will be approximately intermediate knitting level.
CHAT
Connect with other club members and the designer in the Ravelry group or Facebook page. Knit the shawls together and chat about your yarn and the myths!
