Peridot Tunic
Pattern #10 in the Shades of Green Collection

 Skill Level: Intermediate

A knit tunic pattern

The Peridot tunic is a knit sweater in the round. It is worked from the bottom up in one piece. Perfect for those of us that love making garments, but can't abide sewing seams!

Peridot features a wide rounded neckline edged in the same feather and fan lace pattern as is used for the lower body.

Recommended Fit: The Peridot Tunic is designed to be very close fitting. This means for a look as shown in photos you should choose a size that is your actual bust measurement or up to 2 inches less than actual measurement. Of course, fit is personal, so select a size based on what's comfortable for you.

You will need a locking stitch marker to note the beginning of your round during the lower portion of Peridot. Due to how the stitches must fall to make the feather and fan ripple, the cable cross portion is worked directly over the round join. To make this work, you will need to unclip the marker on every cabled row, turn the cable, and replace the marker in the center of the cable.

The lower half of Peridot is worked with a stationary stitch count. Whatever number you cast on will remain the same until you approach the bust area. To add in a little bit of shaping I have utilized needle and gauge changes. Knitting begins with the largest needle size. As you progress toward the bust you will be instructed to change to smaller and smaller needles. If you would rather not have that slight A-line shaping then you may cast on with your largest needles and work even in stitch pattern until 1 repeat short of desired length to bust. At this point change to the middle needle size and work 1 repeat. Change to the smallest needle size for the bust section instructions. For a narrower lower body use the smallest needles throughout.

*This pattern is rated intermediate due to knitting in the round techniques and basic lace stitches.
