Dye-A-Tonic is a good all around fingering weight yarn with a firm twist. The nylon content makes it hold up great for socks, but it's still soft enough to use in baby items. And it's completely machine washable (although I would still suggest using the delicate or gentle cycle and air drying whenever possible).
Dye-A-Tonic is also a good choice for shawls, although it should be knit at a slightly tighter gauge than my Polka yarn.
This yarn takes dye well and colors will be vivid.
